Weekly Activities

• Wednesdays (7pm) - Tour our picturesque acreage with a nature-focused Walk-About hike while searching for distinct Northern Michigan “treasures.”  Following the hike we will spend some time turning the treasures you found into a souvenir for you to take with you. Hikes take place at Schuss Village. June 17-August 26.
• Thursdays (6pm) - New! Enjoy the trails and the view from the top of Schuss Mountain on our Guided Mountain Bike Tours. Bikers will be transported to the top of Schuss Mountain from the Lakeview Fitness Center. Rides are on an off-road terrain with some vertical climbs. Bikes will be provided. Space is limited, call ext. 4298 for reservations. June 18-August 27
• Thursdays (7pm) - Join us on the Summit Practice Green for a putt-putt style game of Goofy Golf. Our Resort Mascot Gandy Goose will be there to join in the action. June 18-August 27
• Fridays (5-7pm) - New - Make-Your-Own-Pizzas at Ivan's.
  We will provide you with a pizza crust and toppings of your choice. You will be responsible for the creation. Once completed, we will bake it to perfection. $15.95 for 16" cheese pizza; $1.00 for each additional topping. June 19-August 28
• Fridays & Saturdays (8pm) - Family Lawn Games; join us on the lawn near the Lakeview Hotel's indoor pool before the outdoor movie and enjoy games like bocce ball, beanbag toss, ladder ball, and horseshoes. June 19-August 29
• Fridays & Saturdays (dusk) - Take in the magic and excitement of an outdoor movie in Shanty Creek’s own backyard.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a family movie under the stars.  Admission is free.  Located in Summit Village outside of the indoor pool.  June 19-August 29
• Saturdays (4pm) - The Great Race; GPS Scavenger Hunt in Summit Village.  Clues and coordinates guide you around the resort. The first team to collect all their clues and reach the final destination wins a prize. June 20-August 29

Outdoor Excitement

• An unparalleled golf experience awaits you on one of our four championship golf courses.
• Play a round of disc golf on Shanty Resorts’ 9 hole disc golf course at Schuss Mountain. Discs may be rented ($5/set) at the Schuss Pro Shop.
• New this year! Experience the beauty of Torch Lake while learning to water ski or wake board. Lessons include boat, gear and certified instructor. Group lessons for 1-4 people. Half day: $500/group; full day: $900/group. Available seven days a week from 9am-12pm or 1-4pm for half-day sessions, or 9am-4pm for full-day sessions. Call ext. 4298 for reservations.
• Stop by the Lakeview Fitness Center to gear up for a day of mountain biking or a casual ride through beautiful downtown Bellaire.   Transportation is available to take riders and their bikes to Schuss Village to ride through our miles of off road trails.  We can even drive you to the top of Schuss Mountain!  If a more leisurely ride is what you seek, our shuttle can transport you to downtown Bellaire where you can ride through downtown, stop for ice-cream, or take the bike path to the park.  Available May-October. • Rent a GPS unit and navigate your way through our 4,500 acres to caches around the resort.  GPS units can be rented at the Lakeview Fitness Center. For beginners we have created a GPS scavenger hunt. Pick up a list of clues from the Lakeview Fitness Center. Find all the answers and receive a prize. Available May-October.
• Fun and excitement happens at Camp Gandy with a new theme each week.  Our program features activities including hiking, crafts, field trips and swimming. June 8-August 31.
• If tennis is your racquet, Shanty Creek Resorts has courts to add excitement to your getaway. Tennis racquets and balls are available in the Lakeview Fitness Center.
• FREE Recreation Equipment Sign Out:  Enjoy tennis, bocce ball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and more.  Equipment available at the Lakeview Fitness Center.
• Splash and play at the outdoor pools located at Schuss and Summit Village.  Outdoor pool at Cedar River available for guests staying at Cedar River.

Indoor Fun

• Beginning May 4, we will be offering water aerobics classes in the Lakeview Hotel's indoor pool. Deep water sessions are available on Mondays and Fridays from 8-9am, and shallow water sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9am. Please call ext. 7695 for pricing information or to register.
• Looking for the perfect way to end the day?  Check out one of our board games or bedtime books available at each front desk.
• Stop by the Lakeview Fitness Center to pick up a clue sheet for an indoor scavenger hunt. Prizes awarded.
• Video arcade games are located near the indoor pool at the Lakeview Hotel.
• Splash and play at the indoor pools located at Schuss and Summit Village.
