Outdoor Excitement

• Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides:  Bundle up for an unforgettable horse-drawn sleigh ride through the north woods. Rides depend on adequate snow cover and weather. Rides cost $12 per rider, ages 3 & under Free (if child sits on adults lap). To ensure availability make your reservation with the Shanty Creek Fitness Center at extension 7695. Ride are available on Saturdays at 5pm, Sundays at 12 Noon. They are also available on certain holiday dates. Please call ahead for details.
  
  
• Sledding: Good old fashioned family fun. Sleds may be picked up at The Lakeview Hotel & Conference Center Fitness Center.
  
  
• Snowshoeing: Go for a stroll through the Northern Michigan hardwoods. Showshoes are available for rental in the Nordic Center, located at The Lodge Cedar River.
  
  
• Pools:  Jump in! Indoor pools are available at Schuss Village and Summit Village. Take a dip in our heated outdoor pool at Schuss Village.
  
  
• Dog Sled Rides: Offered Saturdays from 4-6pm.  Rides take place on the scenic trails at Schuss Village.  Each ride lasts approximately 15 minutes.  Each ride typically accommodates rides under 100 pounds.  $20 per ride.  Reservations can be made through the Schuss front desk.
