BICYCLING

Whether you enjoy the thrill of mountain biking or a leisurely stroll taking in the scenery, Shanty Creek is the place for summer biking. Pedal through the lush forests of Glacial Hills, take a road ride over gentle hills along Torch Lake Drive alongside the turquoise blue. Or train to participate in Michigan’s biggest race, The Iceman Cometh, which takes place on the first Saturday of November each year.

Glacial Hills Pathway + Natural Area

Over 750-acres make up a combined trail system well-suited for hiking, biking, cross country skiing, and wildlife viewing. Located 3 1/2 miles northwest of Shanty Creek’s Summit Village, and just outside of the Village of Bellaire, the successful protection of this land coupled with an exciting trail system developed by experts from Michigan Mountain Biking Association (MMBA) has created one of the most sought after riding and trail running experiences in Michigan.
