What is Golf 2.0?
The PGA of America has implemented the “Golf 2.0” Program to make the game of golf easier, less time consuming more fun for beginners of all ages.
Tee it Forward
In an effort to make the game more approachable and easier for beginners or less experienced players, Shanty Creek has added 8″ cups to each hole on Summit Golf Course in addition to its traditional 4¼“cups.
Spearheaded by Jack Nickolas, Tee it Forward is an initiative which urges golfers to restore fun, particularly with women and junior players by asking bogey golfers to “tee it forward” to the next forward set of tees. This initiative is designed to make the game of golf more playable and increase the amount of players taking up the game. Shanty Creek has implemented this program by adding an extra set of forward tees at Summit GC. These forward tees range from 95 yards to 125 yards out from the green, making the game easier and quicker for all players involved.
