How Do I Apply?
Our employment application is available online. Please contact Human Resources if you require an accommodation to complete the application.
What If I Am Already An Employee?
As an employee, you can apply through your ADP employee portal. After logging in, navigate to the menu icon at the top left corner of your screen and select the Careers menu option. Then select “Search Jobs”.
Can I Apply for Multiple Jobs?
Yes, you may apply to as many positions as you would like, just keep in mind that you might receive followup calls from multiple hiring managers.
Do You Hire People to Work From Home or on Hybrid Schedules?
Most of our positions are in-person and on property due to the nature of our business in ski, golf and hospitality. If a job were to be remote or hybrid, it will be spelled out in the job description.

I’ve Applied for a Job…Now What?
Once we receive your online application, Human Resources will review your information and serve as your first point of contact.
If your background appears to be a match, a member of the Human Resources team will contact you to complete an initial phone screen. From there:
- For many seasonal and entry-level positions, we may be able to extend an offer following the phone screen.
- For other positions, we may schedule one or more additional interviews with the hiring manager or department leadership.
If you are not selected to move forward, you will receive an email notification.
I’ve Accepted a Job Offer. What are My Next Steps?
After you accept an offer, Human Resources will guide you through the pre-employment and onboarding process.
Depending on the position, particularly for certain guest-facing roles, Shanty Creek Resort may require a background screening through HireRight. Background checks are specific to the position and are conducted with the safety of our guests and employees in mind.
You will then receive:
- A pre-onboarding email through ADP Workforce Now
- Instructions to complete required employment forms
- An E-Verify request to confirm your legal authorization to work in the United States
- Information from Human Resources regarding your orientation date and start time
Please complete all required onboarding steps before your first day.
All new employees begin their first day with Human Resources for orientation. Orientation generally begins at 9:00 a.m., unless Human Resources provides a different time. During orientation, you will receive important information about Shanty Creek Resort, workplace expectations, payroll, benefits, policies, and other details needed to begin your employment.
Do You Provide Employee Housing?
Shanty Creek Resort does not provide permanent housing for employees.In limited situations, short-term transitional housing may be available to employees who are relocating to the area.
Transitional housing:
- Is temporary
- Is subject to availability and prior commitments
- Is not guaranteed
- Is intended only to provide time for the employee to secure independent, permanent housing
Seasonal employee housing is reserved for approved interns and international workers participating in Shanty Creek-sponsored programs. It is not available to other seasonal or year-round employees.
Employees are responsible for finding and maintaining their own long-term housing. The following resources may be helpful:
- MSHDA Rental Resources and Affordable Housing Directory — State rental-search tools and housing-assistance resources.
- Goodwill Northern Michigan Housing Resources — Housing navigation, shelter, outreach, and supportive-housing information.
- Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan — Confidential support and housing-related assistance for individuals and families affected by domestic or sexual violence.
Availability and eligibility for these outside resources are determined by the individual provider, not by Shanty Creek Resort.
J1 Cultural Exchange Programs
As part of our international recruitment efforts, we work with USE (Universal Student Exchange, workuse.com/work-and-travel-usa/), InterExchange (interexchange.org/programs/work-travel-usa/international-staff/), and United Work and Travel (unitedworkandtravel.com) to meet qualified Work and Travel USA participants who are preapring for seasonal employment and cultural exchange experiences in the United States. Please note, we do not consider individual out of country applications.
H-2B Seasonal Employment
Dependent on the seasonal need, Shanty Creek hosts summer participants on the H-2B Temporary Non-Agricultural Workers Visa program. We do not consider individual out of country applications.
