Fishing + Hunting

buck antlers over the horizon

Northern Michigan is an incredible destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Home to over 4,000,000 acres of state land, and over 40,000 in Antrim County alone—the Mitten’s landscape is perfect for year-round fishing and fall hunting seasons.

Sportsmen's Paradise

Hunting seasons include deer, bear, turkey, woodcock and grouse, rabbit, and small game.

Hunters from around the state prepare for early antlerless season (mid-Sept), bow season (Oct 1), and rifle season (Nov 15).

While state land is abundant in Antrim County, please always practice safe and ethical hunting.

The Chain of Lakes

Antrim County’s Chain of Lakes is comprised of 12 lakes joined by riverways, and plentiful with bass, walleye, muskie, salmon and trout, whitefish, pike, and panfish.

Mere minutes from Shanty Creek, Lake Bellaire and Intermediate Lake are a fisherman’s paradise.
